Current Job Openings

Q. Where can I find current job openings?

All our current job openings are listed on our careers page. You can filter positions by department, location, or type of employment. All our open positions can be found here.

Q. Can I apply for multiple positions?

Yes, you can apply for multiple positions. Please ensure you understand and meet the criteria for each position you are applying for. Our vacancies may have similar job specifications; however, the requirements may vary depending on the type of role. Please note that we are unable to delay any recruitment processes because a candidate has applied for more than one role. If you are successful in a position, it is the candidate’s responsibility to withdraw from other posts which have been applied to.

Q. What should I include in my application?

The application form will ask you for your education and employment history. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines, we are required to obtain information about all gaps in employment history, and the application form will automatically identify these and ask you for an explanation. The application form will also ask for Personal Details – these are confidential and not shared with the recruitment panel (application forms are anonymised before the recruitment panel is able to view them).

The application form also requires a personal statement about how you meet the requirements of the Person Specification. It is advised you draw on experience and give examples relating to previous job roles, voluntary positions, education or other experiences either professionally or non-professional.

Please note, we are unable to accept CVs or cover letters alone.

Recruitment Process

Q. What does the Recruitment process look like?

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email. Our Hiring Managers take lead on the recruitment of their positions, and they will usually review your application once the position has closed, although there may be circumstances where applications are reviewed and shortlisted whilst the position is live.

Once the position has closed, the recruitment panel will then begin shortlisting. You will be informed by email if you are not successful in being shortlisted for interview.

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will first receive an email asking you to complete a Disclosure form. Once this is completed, you will receive a full interview invitation, which includes further information about the interview and the opportunity to choose your interview slot via email. Interviews are usually held face to face at one of our campuses, and at times may be via Teams.

Once the interviews have taken place, all attendees will be notified of the outcome, whether successful or unsuccessful.

For further information about our Recruitment and Selection process, please read our Recruitment and Selection Policy.

Q. Can I re-apply if I am not successful?

Absolutely! You are welcome to apply for other positions where the Person Specification matches your skills and experience.

Onboarding Process

Q. What kind of background checks are carried out?

We work in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines (which can be viewed here). We have a comprehensive Safer Recruitment process.

The Chichester College Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, which may include a check of the barred lists. Other checks we undertake include (but are not limited to) overseas police checks, online background searches, disclosure form, occupational health check, qualifications and reference checks. We vigorously pursue all references and safeguarding checks to ensure applicants are suitable to work with young people.

For staff working in the First Steps Childcare Group or the Chichester College Sports Centre, a self-declaration relating to the disqualification regulations is also required.

As an organisation using the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to assess applicants’ suitability for positions of trust, Chichester College Group complies fully with the DBS Code of Practice and undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly. The Code of Practice can be downloaded, or a copy will be made available on request. It undertakes not to discriminate unfairly against any subject of a Disclosure on the basis of a conviction or other information revealed. A criminal record will not necessarily bar an individual from obtaining a position at the Group. For further information, please refer to the Group’s Recruitment of Ex-offenders Policy and DBS Policy.

It is an offence to apply for any of our positions if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Q. How long does onboarding take?

The hiring process timeline can vary. This is due to the time it can take to receive vetting information such as a completed DBS and references. We aim to keep you updated throughout the onboarding process via the candidate portal.

Q. Do you offer sponsorship?
